Toys for Tots
November 10 - December 9, 2011
Most of us are fortunate that our children are able to wake up to presents around the Christmas tree, receive gifts during Hanukkah, or other Winter Holiday that is celebrated in your home.
Unfortunately, there are thousands of children that are not quite so fortunate. During this time of giving, we have an opportunity to show compassion and help those who cannot help themselves.
So Pack 504's Toys for Tots drive is now underway! Jennifer Bellisario will have a box for donations of new and unwrapped toys (no stuffed animals please) at the November and December Pack meetings.
Let's bring some joy to
needy children! To find out more about this great program contact Jennifer or click: TOYS

Scouting for Food
Saturday February 18, 2012
This is the time of year that the Food Pantries and Shelters run out of food from their donations before the holidays. So scouts across Chicagoland give a helping hand. We help out by distributing door hangers asking for
food donations and then collect the bags of food that people leave on their porches the following weekend. Each year scouts collect tons of food which goes to those most in need.
At the February 10th Pack meeting, our Event Chair Ted Gerber will have maps so the scouts can outline their territories the same as we do for popcorn.
Food Collection
Saturday February 25, 2012
Last week we will distributed door hangers asking for food donations to help out local food pantries. This week our Scouts will collect the bags of food that people leave on their porches and take them to
the central collection point that will be designated by our Event Chair Ted Gerber. Last year more than 900 boys, siblings, and adults, from 30 Thunderbird district units, collected more than five tons of food!

ecology. We work on electives and achievements to gain new skills. We do things for our school and our community, too. We distribute fire safety information, collect food for shelters and help keep the school's grounds clean.

Steeple Run Plant Sale
Saturday May 5, 2012
Pack 504 will be helping Steeple Run Home and School with their plant sale again this year. Our scouts will be responsible for unloading the truck, helping sort out the orders, and assisting with people's pick-up.
This is a rain or shine, hot or cold event. It's a really cool service project for our Scouts to help out with. John Li is our 2012 Event Chair. Let him know if you can bring a wagon for us to use.
The delivery truck from the nursery will be arriving between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM. Once the truck is unloaded, we will help organize the orders from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. People will be arriving from
10:00 AM to 12:00 AM to pick up their plants. We will post more information as it becomes available.
The 2012 flyer isn't out yet, but you can click here to see a previous sale flyer:
